They're but a glimpse of their melodic death past. In fact I would simplify it as much as saying they're simply progressive metal through and through. I mean its easier to say than power-melo-death-core. With that many influence, i think it's safe to say they're fairly progressive.
With that said, this album rocks my socks.
Edit: Ninjuice, if you're going to recommend similar bands, i dont think In Flames would work, the vocals are complete garbage. The dudes voice sounds literally like nails on a chalk board. *shudders*This Message Edited On 12.24.08

ooo just listened to a mammoth 15 minute track from Solution .45 as well as a 7 minute teaser on their myspace. Both were quite awesome, album should be excellent. Also can't wait to see what Scar Symmetry puts out with their 2 new vocals.

i liked the fact that they went for a 'more of the same' approach this time round, which is what i personally want from a band, if i require change, i look to another band to do just that but not from the same band, if it ain't broke, i say don't fix it... too many times when a band goes in a different direction the fans ALWAYS say "i hope the next one sounds like their debut album or that release after it" so i say more of the same for the next one... i hope and what i heard from their new stuff, it seems they havent changed.
