It's an hour and 34 minutes long, so I'm very likely going to put it off for a long time.

An hour and 34 minutes isn't very long.

An hour and 34 minutes in relatively long for an album; plus, there's always the chance that I won't like it. No one wants to sit through an hour and 34 minutes of something they don't like.

You can always stop listening to it if you dislike it and don't feel like finishing it.

I always have to finish every album I begin listening to. It's like an OCD thing.

Didn't like it. One can only hear the phrases "Texas" and "promised land" so many times in one album before it really starts to get annoying.
Also, from both a lyrical and musical perspective, the album isn't as grandiose as the attempted concept calls for.

Some songs need a while to grow imo, but it's hard to deny immediate appeal of the singles, starter, closer.
