tbh i don't really think this album is that weird. i mean, it's weird. i would've never thought that some of these notes and sounds would fit together if i heard them separately. but i think the main reason why it's so fucking powerful is because the band aligns that weirdness with straight-up death metal tradition. the dynamics - all the movement from crazy fast verse riffs, to breakdowns and solos and the like - remind me of the same feelings i'd get from any other top-quality (most likely old-school) death metal album. the feelings are just presented in a completely original, and completely twisted way here, and that's why it gets a 5 from me
