>can't decide if I prefer "dissodeath" or "skronk" as a genre tag...

Ive just been tagging dissodeath stuff in my catalog as progressive death metal. Not to be confused with bands who are death metal/progressive metal like say, Opeth. Been debating switching the tag out for dissonant death metal for months now tho tbh

"dissonant death metal" feels like a misnomer...we don't exactly call anything "modal death metal"
honestly prefer skronk...let the onomatopoeia reign

skronk is also a descriptor for numerous other genres as well so i prefer it as well

skronk really only refers to guitar discordance and dissonance as a general compositional element
not only that used by metal musicians

"honestly prefer skronk...let the onomatopoeia reign"
I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I see "skronk" become analogous to "djent"

there are starting to be just as many clones that do a similar quality job?? idk, I don't make the rules here

fuck you're right
no onomatopoeia is safe
|
| |
skronk is a very special kind of discordance though and i feel i mostly only ever hear it in metal or jazz

just finished a full album jam, exhausting but rewarding.
On this LP, I really like the opener, Nostalgia and the closer.
