After a few demanding listening session & taking to account their release date & magnitude (lenght),

this work is much more than a 3, i get it now.

"Nice! At least we will know if it was a prophetic dream."

Cool, someone add "Emerald Waters" to the database. And let's place some bets.

Strange seeing people with non 5 ratings on this tbh like not sure there's anything else that so perfectly done what it set out to do

And this is totez quantifiable

From Wisdom isn't as out there instrumentally but it's a much more cohesive body of work, even with more progressive song structures.

This is definitely one of the most ground-breaking metal albums ever made, no arguing there.

FWTH > this, yeah...although I always find myself really disliking the "classical" interludes they try to add (which this album entirely avoids, thankfully).

Part of why I enjoy listening to Pleiades Dust over Colored Sands tbh...

Yeah, their inclusion always feels like a token reminder that "hey, we studied at an academy", but I don't dislike them, they just feel like intermissions.

It is rare I agree with an objective statement, but this seems incontrovertible.

Thanks, I think.

Luckily I found an audience outside the dissodeath crowd, they pretty much think I'm a comedic genius.

dissodeath is inevitable, all roads lead to skronk

can't decide if I prefer "dissodeath" or "skronk" as a genre tag...

skronkcore

I know this was the band's defining moment but I always felt that FWTH was more influential

obscura literally has a band named after it and influenced several other groups so it's not even close objectively speaking

Yeah but I hear riffs from FWTH everywhere in dm, this still feels singular in its scene

If you've been paying attention, dissodeath is practically its own subgenre at this point with influences plenty, so a band being named after Obscura while also sounding nothing like it doesn't mean much lol

I'm still on my dissodeath quest. I dug FWTH and Colored sands but still not completely sold on this one.
