I like this album a lot. It had a bunch of great songs. Beverly Hills was this album's worst track... hell it was Weezer's worst track ever. I can't believe that they tought it would really mesh well with the rest of this album. I hesitated upon buying this album when BH came out as the first single, but I'm glad I did. This album is really great.

How could you say "Beverly Hills" lacks melody? You say that he "raps" but actually it is just a one note vocal melody, he's not really "rapping". And correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that solo is very melodic, along with the chorus, the vocal melody of the verse is like an offset of that and it's really brilliant the way it is put together. I don't think Weezer has come out with a bad album yet, I think people are just looking for them to approach a song the same way they would if they were still 20 years old but let's face it...these men are well into their 30's...they're going to have matured!

Everyone can complain about Beverly Hills as much as they want. The fact is you can't assume they are singing the song from their own perspectives. Each song they write is a story, you have to think of the right character singing them. Beverly Hills is easy to imagine the singer, they describe throughout the song. I think of him as someone not taking himself seriously. I agree that there are others songs on the album that are much better however.

I dont even know what to say about weezer anymore. Honestly I dont like this album but I think its cause I havn't really given it a chance, just like many other people I'm still stuck wishing they will come out with more similar sounding blue album and pinkerton stuff. "This is such a pity" is a good song, it has an 80's sound to it. My best friend I think is really corny.

Most of the people who rate this album a 1 or a 1.5 actually never listened to it. I mean it isn't a blue album or a pinkerton but it was still pretty good. Sure it's over produced but that doesn't mean it was bad. Most people hate it because they were told to hate it.
