This album is a masterpiece. I still remember when it launched and started making waves. It basically created the Progressive House genre which paved the way for early house masters like John Digweed. 'Song of Life' was the opening track on John Digweed and Sasha's 'Renaissance The Mix Collection', which was a revolutionary DJ mix at the time, and to this day remains a timeless piece of work!

There was something ‘different’ to be found on this though. It definitely changed things.

Amazed that this is rated higher than Rhythm and Stealth. That album is a dream come true.

For some weird reason this has never really gone all the way to the top for me. Like it of course, but the amount of praise it gets made me expect more from it or something. Perhaps I need to revisit it again.

Yes that is true. But in the end, it doesn't even matter, since our ratings are the same!

You indeed are conservative with your ratings. The word landmark to me would easily warrant a 4.5. Or do you not enjoy listening to it as a whole despite its clear landmarkness?

Just not nearly as dark and rhythmic as their next album will be. Still a great album.
