As a young teenager, they were local hero material to me in the early 00s. I recall dogging school to meet them and get signed copies of the single CD of Saturday Superhouse. After that, their popularity skyrocketed and my enjoyment of them was inversely proportional.

I haven't given it spin in many, many years but from recollection, it was way more mainstream and less experimental than the previous two. There's a handful of tracks I recall enjoying but as a unit, it underwhelmed massively. I shall spin it this weekend and see how I get on. It's highly possible I have shown it ignorance as an immature and jaded teenager feeling the mainstream had stolen a once underground band. I used to hate it at gigs when crowds would sing along in rapture to shite like "Who's Got a Match?" but seem indifferent to beasting tracks like "Glitter and Trauma"

Puzzle was significantly more commercial as a whole, especially production-wise. It did have the occasional odd-ball moment, but that was definitely when they really catapulted towards the mainstream. In the U.K. at least.

Here too in the US. I had never heard them before and the most popular rock radio station every other hour played Livingg Is A Problem Cuz Everything Dies.

That is a tune to be fair. One of the few I enjoyed from Puzzle. You gotta check out this and Infinity Land.
