The album just wouldn't be the same. Love it for what it is.

A third of this is godlike but the rest is flabby filler. I'd rather jam Piper, Dark Side or WYWH any day of the week.

See I feel like the pacing is fantastic. And while it might seem a little self-indulgent that's the whole point of the concept. Even the short songs like "Vera" and "Bring the Boys Back Home" help add to the atmosphere.

I was amased to learn that Vera was a singer at the time of the WWII, and she has a song titled ''We will meet again (some sunny day)''.

It's self indulgence is part of its charm. That being said Animals, Dark Side and WWYH are a lot better.

Self indulgence isn't inherently bad, but when half these songs are vanilla ass middle of the road puddles of boring rock music that don't deserve the Pink Floyd name... then we have a problem

"I got strong urge to fly, but i got nowhere to fly to"
I used to really resonate with this line, but thankfully I became a cynic.

This album is meant to be taken in as a whole, and that makes it terrific experience.
