She is... SUFFERING! Marvelous track. Altough Faster is probably the best thing ever coming from Britain.

Angel Dust Look like Westlife...............for shame.....

As much as I love the Bible and I really love this album, its a different beast to FNM Angel Dust... Personally I find Angel Dust heavier and Holy Bible more harrowing in lyrical content (I am not a member of the church of Richie Edwards but am aware of his personal history, so like say Joy Division's Closer some of the songs have a stronger impact)

Other than that great review but lyrics were about 70% Richey

This is yesterday and white america written by the Wire as well as most song titles, see numerous interviews and the 10th anniversary DVD for proof

and Yes is the perfect opener, it eases you in as its quite poppy and upbeat, but by Walking Abortion you hit straight left of field.

anyone wondering Richey only played guitar on one song that being La Tristessa Dureau on GATS.

It was pretty revolutionary given the British music scene in 1994 and for the band given previous output.

I've been singing the chorus to "Yes" all day. It's garnered some weird looks.

HAHAHAHAHA, as it should. It's a weird chorus. "He's a boy/You want a girl so tear off his cock"

Yeah, I can see how that'd get you some sidelong glances.

Richey have only recorded guitar parts for La Tristesse Durera. Although, the manics did use some of his guitar work on "No Surface All Feeling" on Everything Must Go.

This is good but I think must of you folks are overrating it. It's just not up to everyone's statements about it. Over-hype leads to my disappointment.

True but most of the time the top 5 albums for a year are fantastic. I heard the opening track from this and really liked it so i read people's responses to it here and in the end i lose. If i went in wit no expectations itd probably have been better. But i like to spoil things for myself!

Just relistened to this. Love that pounding bassline in 'Archives of Pain', it has such a fantastically booming quality to it and makes me feel like I'm in the room when they were recording it. Great guitar solo too.

Oooh man, the number of times when no one's home and I've put this CD in, turned it up to full volume and let 'Archives of Pain' rip my head to threads... I Luurrvvee that intro. And this album, incidentally.

Richie was adorable! Seriously, he looks like in needs a hug in most videos of him on stage.

This album ain't for the faint hearted, its bleak and the shadow of Richey looms over every word, every drum beat, every bass line...Yet you don't leave the album, you keep on listening.Revol and Faster are my personal favourites, the performance of Faster on TOTP was superb. The intro to the Intense Humming... with the Nuremburg Trials judge talking about the terrible crimes committed sum up the album.

for some reason I don't dig this album as much as everyone else. I love "Yes" but the rest I just don't feel. Guess I don't get this album.

Yes is def a killer song but so far i really like Of Walking Abortion and She Is Suffering. there are some songs though that dont really do much for me (hence the 4)

Revol and She Is Suffering are probably my favorites so far.

The lyrics for this album are pretty brutal in places, haven't rated yet, but it's looking like a 3.5 or a 4 so far.

The soundbytes at the start of some of the songs was a good call, that one that says something like "you think you're god, but your the devil itself" Made me kind of uneasy when I was listening to this alone last night.

4st 7lbs is probably the best lyrically, in my opinion

Haven't heard it in full, but loving it from what I've heard. The intro to 4st 7lbs is absolutely terrifying.

Also, is it true that Richey could barely play guitar?
