and i agree, the bass playing was never the same after johan left. in his hands, it was so much more than a rhythm instrument!

I love this album! To Bid You Farewell has to be one the most beautiful songs ever. I'm curios though, in the album sleeve for my copy, Mikael Akerfeldt's name is printed Akerfeldr and it is printed like this every time. Well, their music isn't as energeticc as other bands, say...Draonforce, so what good would it look to run ariund the stage and flip the hell out? lol
To bid you farewell is my favoerite track here, though it was my least favorit on my first few listens.
I feel that nectar is underrated, it's a really cool tracvk, a close second, followed by BRI, then Advent, then TNATSW is the worst heere, but still epic.

I honestly believe this is the best metal album ever made.
Absolutely perfect in every way.
Stunningly beautiful, melancholy, atmospheric, aggressive, any other positive adjective will fit.
Mikael Akerfeldt is a genius.
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are no match for Opeth in my humble opinion.
