Overall this was a good album, but nothing more. The only thing that made this only slightly different than Like An Ever Flowing Stream was that there were a few more melodic parts (but not many) and the guitar tone wasn't quite as crunchy as it used to be, though it still is really, really heavy.
My favorite part on the album at the moment is "Under a Bloodred Sky" at about 4:05. It's just hella catchy. I know you said they put themselves back into a comfort zone which is somewhat true, but it's a break from some of their other riffs which can get to be monotonous for an entire song, and almost an entire album for these guys. and i dont really mind it that much. In Flames is a good band, but not great. SotS is alright for me as well.
But what really set me off was the Dark Tranquillity remark. They are easily my favorite Death Metal band and The Gallery is just as influential as The Jester Race and SotS.This Message Edited On 02.20.08

K, did I mention DT in my review? No? Shut the fuck up then. And yeah it was as influential, and it was good. Tell it to someone who gives a fuck, that wasn't my point. My point was everybody runs their mouth about In Flames and SoTS and both of them fucking suck. Try having a point.
