Trainwreck is an incredible song. Even the lyrics are some of my favorite.

Life's changed

yet remain the same

basking in an afterglow

I did not know; I am here

in shadows island

lying, hopeless, wondering

all questions exhaust me

running screaming chanting

for all this land I've seen its worth

helping all for times sake

it brings me work

pinned to this world

Trilobite is one of my favorite Mastodon songs, but I can't agree with Remission being their best.

@Sevengill I agree Trainwreck is one of their top songs, maybe second only to Oblivion.

@Source My favorite Mastodon songs will likely always be Battle At Sea and Hearts Alive, but everything on Crack the Skye is great. It's a fascinating album.

I've considered it their bast at various times. I'm blinded by my love for 2000-2009 Mastodon though so I really have no idea.

Yeah it depends on so many factors, but I guess we can agree that the best Mastodon record is contained in that period of their career.

My time on sput has detracted from my love of this bands first 3 albums.

All time classics.

Yeah, they drifted too close to prog metal on 'Crack the Skye' and haven't recovered
