Again, those are the best. The middle is kind of boring for me.

I've just got my copy of the album, must have been one of the last - they don't sell it anymore for about a week now.

I just listened to the first half and I do like it, but I've excpected a bit more. still it was only the first listen and doesn't say anything about the album at all ;)

Great album! It feels great to have this album playing in the background while I'm working or just on the net. Favorites are "Bloodhail", "Holy Freaking Shizzle 40,000" (lol :P) and "Earthmover".

So I listened to this album cuz of all the stuff I read here. It was really good. "Earthmover" was a great closer. Now I just need to get a hold of the booklet thingy.

Agreed, especially in regards to PTH, but honestly this one was surprisingly good, although not the "THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC OF 2008!!!!111Q" thing this site said it was. But you really should check it out. This Message Edited On 06.17.08

well..ilikemusicthatsucks..i can't think of an album that tops it so far, beauty and atmosphere wise at least..watershed and Bedlam are better in a whole different way..sun kil moon is up there too..drop an album that dsputes that it isn't up there..

Sun kil moon is twenty times better than this because it does something. I dig this a little, and its good but its not great. Things only become great because a community of people hype them to be jesus the second. If you want something with "beauty" and "atmosphere" listen to the new sigur ros.

who you calling a douche bag pixie girl. everyone is entiltled to their opinions. Just like you are, but abusing people based on musical opinions is ignorant and pretty blatantly stupid.

"Maybe then I can feel like this review proved a point, as music in my eyes isn't about mass consumption, but rather establishing special relationships with those things that reflect something new, something provoking, something emotional, and most of all something real"

Agreed, but just because hordes of unsophisticated and immature phillistines flock to an album like Fortress doesn't mean that someone still can't establish a connection like that with it. The hipper-than-thou thing always just strikes me as contrarian and anti-bandwagon more than any genuine concern for art. You forget that on top of all of what you think music should be, it can also be lots of fun, and that attracts a lot of people to it. But now I'm dangerously close to rehasing that tired "low-art" vs. "high-art" debate, so I'll just remind you that Sonic Youth and the Butthole Surfers adored each other and shut up.

ugh i just wished they'd fit this on one disc. with all the crap in the middle gone, it'd be perfect.
