Still don't understand that hahahaha. Unless he was being sarcastic when he said pop, but who knows.

well it is their most polished but it has so much brilliance musically. I think he dismisses it because the recording process was so frustrating for the band

Def agreed with it being their most polished that's for sure.

Falling Snow is still top 3 Agalloch songs for me. It was the first track I heard from them along with I am the Wooden Doors.

Dude it took me forever to get into The Mantle for some reason. This and Pale Folklore both hit me right away.

i like that haughm wants the band to have a more bm-sounding approach to their music. marrow was almost a jackpot, too bad serpent didn't succeed at all

Pale Folklore has always been my fav then this and The Mantle are pretty much tied. All are easy 5's for me though. Marrow fucking slays as well.

Marrow has this amazing darkness to it that they never achieved anywhere else.

and I need to give Serpent another chance tbh. I was a bit too quick to hivemind along with Crysis' review

I dig Serpent. Nowhere near as much as the others, but it's still solid.

Pale Folklore, The Mantle, and this are all 5's for me, Marrow is a 4.5, and Serpent is a 3.5.

So everything they've done is very good at least.
