I think you'd like it. I dont really even know why I brought up the lack of METAL MALISHA though

The metal militia is getting their forces armed to attack this with more melodic black metal reviews tbh.

fix'd

And awesome review by the way, this album is pretty sweet, some boring sections but otherwise it rules. This Message Edited On 12.06.07

I'll make sure my next review is just an allegorical interpretation of my Grade 7 geography textbook. Why review literally when I can speak of melodic undertones, both brooding and haunting, whispering hauntingly alongside scathing tremolos, as if to act as a direct reflection of dripping tree sap in a scathing forest fire.

Please do, I will be far more likely to get the album if it is presented in that sort of fashion!

I thought you'd heard it. Where are these alleged boring sections? Don't mention the 10 minute track either.

I was referring to your next review.

And by boring sections I mean it feels repetitive at times, but seriously, that is one of my only complaints and a tiny one at that, it's a really good album.

I get that, I just really thought the similarities were awesome because they're so simple yet powerful. I might review the Atavism of Evil eventually, but it was really disappointing, more typical, newer-ish black metal.

Next review will be another Canadian band, one who recorded the album in question in a forest. Yup krieg.

Which Root have you heard though, Rattle? I could understand not liking their later intensely dark doom stuff but Hell Symphony is absolutely essential ****.

And I only mentioned them because of their stylistic similarities, both musically and lyrically. Big Boss being a High Priest in the Church of Satan was worth noting in referencing Megiddos lyrics, yknow?

yeah it was Hell Symphony. But it was also like 4 months ago at least when i heard it. i liked it but i didn't think it was awesome, you know what i mean. but i probably wasn't ready for it at that time, my tastes have had time to change since then. i'm going to get HS again, and then this.

It's funny how I made a joke about m.m and then how many people latched on to. Sounds like a cult, i apologize for that though. Anyways, I ordered this like a week ago, should have it tommarow or in the next couple days. Can't get enough of Oath and that solo.

Rattle, you do have to realize that Hell Symphony was released in 1991, too. I mean it was a really significant album that generally gets lost in the fray of TRANSILVANIAN HUNGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Balls, don't worry I'm just fuckin' about.

I guess I should be reviewing stuff like Enslaved or Burzum if I want responses.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I used to refrain from reviewing the little known albums I like. But it's good to see the majority of our metal community owning up to their general lack of taste and curiosity. Kudos.

36 comments in general isn't bad, plus it doesn't really help that this is under staff reviews...whenever I come to this site I know I don't even bother looking at what the staff has written because 9.9/10 I don't really give a shit about it.

That's all I review it seems, or it least, for my last 7 reviews.

You're still reviewing well known material IMO. SoH, I agree. We as Staff get pretty shafted. That's the main reason I havent posted another review yet.

Really? Here I was thinking I was reviewing some kvlt stuff no one had heard of because I added them into the database :p

Well, see like if this was on top of the reviews submitted by normal reviews (like, move the Staff section of reviews above the normal reviews box), this would more noticable. That and it would be great to see the genre placed underneath the name.

Well it's unknown enough for you to have to add :P

I dont know, it just feels like a waste of time to try and open people up to music that isn't generic Swedish-Symphonicmelobullshit because they wont bother reading reviews for things they dont recognize. Not that I'm going to stop.

Dude you know everyone here doesn't want to look into your little known metal bands because they have better little known metal bands that are amazing and everyone should know and look up to them as being the most metalest dude ever!

I've always thought that a lot of metal users go out of their way to bring up undiscovered bands to make themselves seem so fucking rad, and in the process stick their nose up in the air at any other users discoveries because they didn't find it themselves. "Oh fuck this band you found, mine is so much more kvlt!!!"

That's good, I personally probably like 'Swedish-Symphonicmelobullshit' but I feel that I'm pretty open-minded about at least taking chances on other stuff. Like this for example, black metal isn't my favourite genre but your review got me interested so I'm downloading now :D
