That said, she's a musically untalented moron. Don't take offense, your review is okay I suppose, but she's stupid and untalented and that's all there is to it. Oh yeah, and her lyrics have about as much value as what I leave in toilets. Good lyrics: Thrice, Pink Floyd, Mars Volta, and Strung Out's are solid. Not Avril.

I agree with Brycey in that people who whine about "selling out" are stupid. Who gives a crap if a band sells out? They're making millions doing it. And if you dont like the band or aritst, then why do you even care that they "sold out"?

i also like avril. but i have to disagree with Brycey, i prefer her new album, i think its deeper than her first one, and has better songs on it. and as an added bonus, she is dam hot!!!!!

I think she has gotten uglier in every video she has made, in all honesty. In her first video, for "Complicated", she was REALLY hot, and as time went on, she got less and less attractive.

The reason the "selling out" thing is prevalent is because there's a big difference between making the music you want to make and doing what the good producers tell you to.

Avril is an image, she's an empty shell. She has no talent in playing instruments, writing music, or anything in that field. She is a tool. I don't understand how this is hard to see. Why do you think she's a solo artist, but they try to make it seem like there's some steady band she has going? Because they want to make it look like she is rock music, that she is original, that she can do something. But she can't, which is why this album is filled with studio artists doing work for her and bad lyrics she didn't even write.

How anyone can enjoy that is beyond me, even opinion-wise.

Avril Lavigne is another example of big business marketing doing it's job. Why would a "sensible" American record company pay a whole band when they can focus on one quirked-out teenage ego-maniac? I have been frustrated to the point of cynacism in the past. Remember...the target audience is 13-18. That's why band's like Avril, Green Day,Creed, Brittaney and rap music in general flourish on the market. Get the teenies hooked when before they hit the work place. Get them spending the parent's money and start a trend of looking to the radio station's, MTV and BET for their self-image. Then when they go off to college and start making their own income they can start perpetuate the market for Corporate-created pop. When the college kid's grow up and have kid's they continue the legacy by setting an example. "Look to the T.V. as the model of how to be."
In the early day's it was the radio, newspapers and fashion magazines. But I digress.

I like the album and Avril's first one as well. Things I'll Never Say is a blast to play acoustically. As for Avril being a sellout, she's not exactly shilling pepsi or make-up or whatever britney/beyonce and a lot of the pop stars are so I give her a bit of respect for that.
