Ahaha, ppsst. Thats not all, guesswhatguesswhatguesswhat. If things pull through I'll be taking charge of the music section of the SRC newspaper @ uni and I might... just might (haven't finalized anything), slip in an interview with the band. Epepepepep.

9th Dec @ Luna Park. If you were smaller or something i'd put you in a backpack or something.

Doesn't matter, Luna Park is all ages, as is Adelaide's, all of the others are 18+.

I'll just earn some cash and watch them in the US sometime.

Let me start off by saying that was a really well written review man.

I definitely think this album has an epic quality that EGN lacked. Personally I prefer it but I have friends who swear Everything Goes Numb is better. I can see it launching into a debate between fans.

Anywhom, It's great to hear Kalnoky's lyrics again, I personally see him as this generation's Bob Dylan, using a simple narrative-esque style that is both understandable and captivating at the same time without requiring the use of a thesaurus to decipher it.

Great review, firstly.

Given the album the credit it deserves..

im just curious.. does anyone think that this could be a sort of concept album? or at least conceptual?... because each track seems loosely based on religion and the different views, and as mention it is a shorter album than most people were expecting.. i dunno just seems they were trying to make it that way to me

just my 2 cents haha

and im seeing them at the Adelaide show with RBF and LTJ cannnotttt waiiittttt... they better have a long set

It's got a fairly dark central motif, but the themes throughout the whole record are pretty unrelated outside of that.

Ahh, this is out!

I have to go get it tomorrow. I am beyond pumped. Everything Goes Numb is one of the best albums I own.

When is this released in the UK?

I really really like SM but I'd like to hear them play slowly more often

Tomas' lyrics always seem to be loosely related in some way. On EGM many of them were related through themes such as suicide, but that wasn't a conceptual album, nor is this one I believe. Though I do agree with you, this album does deal more heavily with religious themes.

I didn't really enjoy Streelight that much (it was something to do with the fact that their guitarist is seriously lame...I need good guitars. Or maybe it was the vocals. Or the production. Or any matter of things, really), but your review kind of makes me want to download this album. Everybody keeps blowing loads all over this band, and I could never figure out why. They were just painfully boring in my eyes. Sure, the horn parts were fantastic, I can agree with that, but the rest bored me.

Eh, I'll check this out at some point. You've convinced me.

Wow. This album is amazing. The horns are so good, and the already great bass got kicked up a notch. Lyrically it blew me away.

My only problem is that Tom seems to have a pretty standardized song structure. Honestly, it feels like half the songs on the album go into a slow, sparsely-orchestrated chorus late in the song to lengthen things. That is just lazy songwriting.

Otherwise, great work.

Nearly every song on this album is amazing, but I'm not a big fan of Forty Nights because it bugs me how much a lot of it sounds like the chorus of Here's To Life.

I've heard streetlight (this album too) and its a bit to much for me. I don't like the use of horns. It's well done but it's not my style.

That's the reason why I, personally, love Forty Nights. Ideally, it's like an homage to Here's to Life.

P13, do you think the horns are badly arranged, or are you just not a fan of wind instruments?

The horns make Streetlight Streetlight.

You can't hook up a distortion pedal to horns though!
