I've seen them live three times their kind of hit or miss. There's no denying that this album was amazing start to finish.

Agree 100% with this comment^^^^^I have been to their shows and they show they have a real humanity to them because of how they hang out before and after the shows in the crowd of fans that came to see them. The one minus about this band and I hate saying this is that they will never be commercial and if they were they would be HUGE!

Reminiscent of early Taking Back Sunday, Brand New & Moneen; NY quintet Envy On The Coast employ interesting & ambitious dynamics to craft out a satisfying debut LP. Combining energetic pop-punk, alt-rock & a little bit of intense post-hardcore, ‘Lucy Gray’ includes passionate vocals which support the above-average lyrics. All the while, talented musicianship (especially the dual guitar attack) flays away in the background. The album is a touch long (50 mins), slightly front-loaded & confusingly has 2 ballads placed successively, but this only dampens – not ruins – the overall flow of what is an excellent LP. Recommended Tracks: The Gift of Paralysis, Tell Them That She's Not Scared, Starving Your Friends & Mirrors.
