I thought that was None So Vile where Lord Worm was supposedly just intoxicated and rambled his growls for the whole thing then wrote the lyrics afterwords.

that seems to be the running theory about none so vile yea. i'm not sure about the order or the method with this album, but it's pretty obvious in a lot of places that bannon isn't saying the actual lyrics. like in concubine, all be does is scream "you stay gold/i'll stay gold" despite there being quite a beautiful set of liner notes for the song.

Well, if you read the lyrics along with None so Vile, you can actually make out some of the parts a little bit. Definitely still a challenge though.

yeah, like in phobophile. same with this album. bits and pieces, but definitely not enough to say that they are singing the actual lyrics for the whole time. it never really bothered me, besides the fact that both albums have brilliant lyricism.

there's a sound-off that perfectly describes why the lyrics are the way they are, i think. it's genius

This album and The Mantle are the only 2 albums that have ever taken years to completely grow on me to the point where I thought they were classics. This one took a little longer.

It's refreshing to come back to this release after some time only to be reminded just what an insane release of energy and emotion it really is. Like if you've listened to it for a while you kind of grow used to it, and then when you return and just listen to that Concubine unleash... fuuuuuck.

Yeah brick, that sound off is probably the best way to describe the album, I'll point people to it if I ever have to tell someone what it's all about

ben koller is by far my favorite drummer. He is a hardcore machine. The drumming on aimless arrow in particular is mind-blowing.
