nah, he didn't use double bass that much until their latest album. I think you can hear it somewhere on this record too though, like in the intro of Fault and Fracture there might be some doubles, but those could be done with a single pedal too

His drumming on here is probably only matched by his drumming on No Heroes (the track). Amazing performance; his second half of Fault and Fracture is just animalistic.

After listening to this album multiple times through, I've decided that I do in fact like it better than You Fail Me. You Fail Me is still a 5/5, but these lyrics are so meaningful, so emotional, and the furious instrumentation just accents the anger and sorrow that the lyrics evoke. This album is relatable in so many ways. The lyrics will speak to you on a personal level. You can't understand anything that Jacob Bannon is screaming, but that just adds to the symbolism of the album. The girl, who is one half of the relationship, is just that. A girl. She has nothing that sets her apart from everybody else. You think that she's so much more than that, and you do so much for her, but after it's all over, you realize that she's just that. Just another person. The fact that Bannon is screaming completely unintelligible lyrics is so symbolic, because she's anonymous. She has no voice that sets her apart from the rest. Overall, this is one of my favorite albums ever. No question.

I know that I just copied my sound-off, but I'm not sure how many people will see that. I just wanted to share my personal take on the album.

What? It's seriously a masterpiece, and it's especially therapeutic to listen to listen to if you're going through something similar to what the lyrics are describing.

I think if I had listened to this during the scorched Earth time after my first big breakup my world might have imploded. It's still amazing a little further beyond that context though.
