Meh, this is okay. It's like a mediocre System album so far. Wish System would start making music again.

Good review, Serj solo debut is magnificent. It's melodic, but at the same time unbelievably hard and mad. It really sounds like SOAD previous work, but considering that Serj is really the mastermind behind the band, that doesn't come as a surprise.

This is nothing special, really.

Pretty good album, a little better than i was expecting. Not as technical as i would have liked, but Deron wasn't singing so I can't complain. Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition was probably my favorite off this.

This doesn't sound like any of System of a Down's previous work. Especially the s/t and Toxicity. And Daron is the main songwriter behind the band. That is why the riffs on this album are so bland.

I just got through my first listen of the album, and surprisingly its pretty good. Its not incredible, but much better than i hoped it would be. I might even say its better than the last SOAD record, i'll comment again after i've heard it a few more times

it is very refreshing not hear daron's voice for once, i loved what he did with toxicity and steal this album, i just felt he way overstepped his boundaries with the double albumThis Message Edited On 10.23.07

I need to get this. This and new Epica, mainly.
i know you probably wanted to post this first but you should probably listen to an album more than once before you review it.
I usually listen to albums once, skip tracks and masturbate while reviewing. :o

Anyway, I might check this out. System of a Down has gotten very dull lately, so I don't expect much really.

Picked up the CD today. =)

Anyone got the special edition of this? I know it's a rip-off (4 songs for $15 more!), but Blue is on it.

I saw the title "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition," so I decided to listen to it, since I was curious about whether Serj made a cover of that one really old song from, what, the forties? A shame, though, that isn't the same.

I loved "System of a Down" LP but the rest just went down hill, i also really like Mezmerize but the album gets old really quickly.

Um... Beirut is a pretty big place. It's possible, but don't count on it. Anyway, this record is good despite its simplicity. System could get away with simplicity because of its Middle Eastern sound and more metal sections. This sounds a bit radio-ish at times. Unsurprisingly my favorite songs are The Unthinking Majority, Money, Praise the Lord... and Lie Lie Lie.

This review blows, how can you say Sky is over is a bad song? I actually dislike Money... I can listen to Sky is over all day long it's such an amazing song.

So, what you're saying is, my review sucks just because I don't like a song that happens to be one you like?

The two singles are great, but that's all I've heard. Strange, since I thought this would be one of those albums that come out and I'm like right there @ midnight the day before since System is one of my fav bands.
I only had the green for one CD this month, and got The Alchemy Index. I hope I made a good decision.

Nahh it's fine hey143 Granted it is your review and your opinion.. It would have just been nice if you were more neutral. What if I read your review and never listened to the song under the impression it was horrible. I would never have known that I would have loved it so much. It's fine that you don't like the song...This Message Edited On 10.25.07
