Oh a Tribes review! [enter criticism here]. Sorry, it's just so in right now! Anyway. So I've had one listen though and the album just seems a bit unfocused - like they weren't too sure which direction to move the music into so they tried a whole slew of things. The music itself is OK, but its lacks the passion and atmosphere of Radiohead's previous releases.
Like Kage said, theres no real standouts here, only good and slightly better (those being 15 Step and Jigsaw). Still, i reckon this album might be a grower - looking at around 3-3.5. Definitely see The Eraser influence here as well, with the downside of that being that there seems to be a lack of presence of the actual band - its plays a bit like a Yorke record rather than a Radiohead one. This Message Edited On 10.11.07

#4, Fishes?, is amazing...
It's like Radiohead doing indie music. Very spacey guitar riffs...

Decent review, but I agree with the people that said it reads somewhat like an ad. I'm pretty excited about the album.

Are you suggesting that I live in a box?
Should I be interested in Rainbow?

Yeah, as Rainbow are pretty good. I find them kind of boring, but they're classic.

Ugh, this is mediocre, nothing more, nothing less, I was expecting so much more with them not having the constraints of a label etc.
it's still a 3 though

lunchforthesky: "Best Radiohead album since Kid A and that's saying something seen as Amnesiac is near flawless. This reminds me of Amnesiac but with direction."
Wasn't Amnesiac loosely based off the novel Siddhartha? This Message Edited On 10.11.07

Well written review. I wish I could purchase this album as an actual physical object. I hate downloading the albums and burning them.

Great album although I disagree with the review when you say it's dark. It seems to be more mellow than dark.
Indeed

I don't think it's as dark as Hail To The Thief but I think it's definitely dark overall.
