This album is really relaxing. While that may be good in some aspects, I liked Radiohead songs which have bursts of energy in them...coughparanoidandroidcough

This album isn't that good. I enjoyed it, though my interest wained in several places. But it was not memorable at all, and had absolutely NO instrumental power. It was purely vocal driven. After my first listen, the only thing I remembered about it was Thom Yorke rambling on like he's always done. Except on this album it's constant.

To call the album "disturbing" is almost laughable. It's an extremely mild album, no drive, no confrontation. No challenge. It just kinda sits there, Radiohead being Radiohead except more minimal than usual. Big deal.

Also, "lush" is just about the last word I'd use to describe this album. This Message Edited On 10.10.07

I didn't think the review was bad at all. I can't give an album a 5 the day it comes out, but so far I can't find anything I don't like about the album, aside from being too short.

@Kage: That's the point behind this one I think. All of Radiohead's albums have some instrumental theme. Kid A had electronics, OK Computer had icy guitars, and I think this one is Radiohead's bare bones album.

And it's very good.

It's so bare bones that it hardly feels like a real album. One of the great things about past Radiohead is that their albums all had a sort of thematic arc, a purpose, a holistic sound. This sounds like a collection of minimalist jams.

While that's all fine and dandy, it hardly makes a classic or near classic album.

Oh, and the drums are WEAKSAUCE. Come on, Phil. What happened to the power and drive I heard on the live versions of Arpeggi? Screw this. So mild. This Message Edited On 10.10.07

I just got this. So far I haven't really been floored by anything like I have on every other Radiohead album.

The whole time I was listening to this, I kept reassuring myself that the next track would bring something unexpected and re-ignite the excitement of the album. But it never came. It just kept keepin' on...and keepin' on. By the time I came to terms that there wasn't any more to the album than met the eye, I was fairly disappointed. The only thing that really turns me on about this is Jonny's performance.

feeling a lot like OK Computer, just much, much darker, frazzling, and chaotic

it's much more terrifying than OK Computer

This kind of reminds of Hail to the Theif in the respect that it's fairly safe and lacks memorable moments/songs. I've only listened to this twice but nothing has really impressed me up to this point.

By lush I mean it's full of energy and noise at every point, yet still subdued.

Planewreq, you're criticizing Radiohead... one of the greatest bands of all time..

And you have Pete Wentz in your avatar??

How much of an idiot do you feel like?

Your review is well done. I don't have a problem with it at all.

But planewreq had a point and that was bringing up your insecurities.

This review felt well written to me, and sure definitely is

I get it that it was well-written. Don't play this game:

I took all the criticism given to me over the past few months and formed this review. But, hey, it's still not good enough.

because it makes you look like a large bundle of squirrels.

I like it. Kinda dull, good for background noise, but good nonetheless. I'll give it a week before I rate it.

I'm about halfway through this album, and I like it so far, but I feel it's too early to rate. Great review though.

8 sound offs and 1 review for an album thats only 13 hours old. That has to be a record.

Will we get more In Rainbows reviews than 10,000 Days? It's a possibility.
