I didn't really get Fugazi for about two or three years after buying IOTKT and Red Med, suddenly they clicked and now those albums really take me back
Definitely still my favourite two
I'd go for 'Smallpox Champion' and 'Long Distance Runner' as their two best songs

Doof’s ranking is pretty similar to mine, I might swap Red Med and Kill Taker, and though I’ve only heard this one twice it’ll def be top 3.

@Doof:
1. The Argument / Repeater
2. Repeater / The Argument
3. End Hits ()
4. 13 Songs
5. Red Medicine
6. In On the Kill Taker
7. Steady Diet of Nothing
Legitimately have trouble deciding whether I like this or REPEATER "better" - depending on what time of the day you ask me, either one could take the top spot. Only other spicy take is END HITS third (underrated album) and maybe people would scoff at RED MEDICINE as low as fifth. But in all honestly this is among the greatest / most consistent discogs out there. Nothing below a 3.5 for me which is pretty remarkable. (Yet also not a flat-out 5.0, either. Though there have been several times I've considered bumping either this or REPEATER. Circling back to my first point, I can never decide and so I end up bumping neither.)

End Hits: [Break; Arpeggiator; Foreman's Dog]
The Argument: [Cashout; Strangelight; Epic Problem]

The real question is where y’all rank the band members’ other projects against the Fugazi discog. I haven’t heard Minor Threat or Embrace yet and I owe Rites of Spring a revisit, I think those are the other “essential” MacKaye/Picciotto projects.

rites of spring is also very very good

How do you recommend tackling Minor Threat? It seems their material has been packaged in a lot of different ways over time.

the most concise release that has their best material is “first two 7 inches” which is a compilation of exactly what it says. there are slightly different versions out there but if you have spotify then the version there should suit you well. probably one of my most played vinyl records i own

Oh dope, I’d seen that on Spotify but was skeptical of that release since I haven’t seen it elsewhere.
