Yeah, 2.5 would be about right, but that's being a little harsh.

Same streamlined, glossy production of Scar Symmetry and Sonic Syndicate. I hate melo death when it's over produced and not heavy, exception to Ceremonial Oath which are not over produced, just god damn catchy.

Balls, I don't know what you're thinking comparing this with Sonic Syndicate and saying it's not heavy, but you must be high. This Message Edited On 01.21.09

Most melo-death is really bad. Balls, I don't get why you like Ceremonial Oath, they're some of the worst I've heard.

No, the producer of Sonic Syndicate produced this record. Ceremonial Oath fuckin rule however.

Last Absence record was great though, I need to re-listen to this album pronto. This Message Edited On 01.21.09

From Your grave is definitely better.

I proably need to change my rating for this one. Not because of the comment, but because I jsut relistened to it and it's pretty same-y. Nowhere near as catchy.

I agree with what fireabove said, most melodeath has a more polished sound than black or death metal. This Message Edited On 01.21.09

I honestly think there's nothing wrong with the production of this record. It is neither too clean nor is it too dirty. I liked this a slight bit better than From Your Grave though.

I prefer From Your Grave.

This is really a classic for you?

Well, i've taken a long absence from this band, pun intended, so I will do listen to this again soon. I'm just saying though, they switched producers and the upgraded values were very noticable. Still, as long as the record has some awesome groove to it, I will love this shit no doubt.

The production is fine on this album, it just gets a little boring/repetitive.

That said The Murder is a brilliant track, and Into The Pit is one of the best covers i've heard.

Yeah who's that? And how does this album compare to FYG?

FYG is a little better imo, this is a bit much to listen to as a whole - it drags just a little.

However, The Murder is easily their best song.
