That sucks man. I like this gothic doom style so much better than funeral doom.

it's not the style it's gotta be the songwriting, plus the vocals are far too high in the mix

I see what you mean. Still love this album though. You've heard Turning Season Within by Draconian haven't you?

Tbh I really don't know any other bands with the same gothic doom style as MDB and Draconian. Seems like we both need to find some more though.

For the MDB style, Mourning Beloveth's "A Disease For The Ages" takes the best elements of MDB and combines a little Solitude Aeturnus. Definitely worth checking out. For Draconian, there's nothing better than Theatre of Tragedy's "Velvet Darkness they Fear".

I will try to get those both tomorrow. I can only hope that the downloads work.

Yeah this album rules. I wanted to hear the new one, but from what a lot of people say it's not that good.

Definitely check out the available songs, then. It's MDB as you know and love them.

I love My dying bride , their dark perspective , a really inspiring band , full of innovative ideas and etc but this album is kind of dissapointment for fans although it doesnt mean that the whole album sucks .
By the time you reach the 5th song you ll start to think that how it lacks variation !! don't get me wrong i m a huge fan a funeral doom ..so repetition is not basically this album's problem ... monotonous voice which you ll hear in every song is something that will destroy this album, there are highlights as mentioned in the review and other users comments which no way can be denied.
Thanks for the review...absolutely amazing!

This was my first album by the band...it's probably the heaviest album they've made
