The absolute worst production and mixing on any Fates album. Cocky fuckers tried to do it themselves. Sad too because the song writing is is top notch.

I really don’t think it’s awful, just not the best. The remaster does sound a bit better
The music here is great tho and really underappreciated

Somehow nothing special for Fates imo, but definitely very well done and that deserves respect

I'm trying to practice restraint for now but yeah, this is definitely a remarkable album. The production gets shat on way too much too.

Because it’s god-awful Cas. I really love the song writing and the musicianship is off the charts as usual but I wish the band could have hired a legit producer.

There's a story behind that... Inside Out was the last album in the band's deal, and they had already made it known after Parallels that they were going to try to see what other labels were out there (they were coming off their most commercially successful album, after all). Because of this, Metal Blade Records spent very little money on the recording and promotion of Inside Out. The band ended up re-signing to Metal Blade after Inside Out anyway, but the damage to that album was already done -- they did eventually move to Inside Out Records for Darkness in a Different Light and Theories of Flight before returning to Metal Blade for their last album.
