I have almost every album Prince has put out. I even have some very rare stuff from a friend that was hooked up with Prince's employees at his Minneapolis music stores back in the day. I have to say that this may be my least favorite album of them all running a close tie to Lovesexy. I'm having a hard time getting what you all seem to like about it.
I've been through the album 3 times and my friend has been through it more than that and we both hate it. Go figure....
I have yet to listen to it on my home system, maybe that'll change my mind some...

This is the first prince album i've listened to and it makes me want to get more.

Somebody told me that prince, on his first album or maybe it was some other one, but they told me that he played 28 instruments on which ever album it was.
Can anybody confirm this?

That's almost definitely an exaggeration but he's insanely talented and I know he plays a whole whack of instruments.

personally, i thought the album is among Prince's worst along with Musicology, Chaos & Disorder, and 3121. These works are good otherwise, but we have to remember there prince, and when you compare them to past work, they seem very watered down and wimpy.
