I dunno what the reviewer was talking about here. The riffs here are very musically deep and it goes way past just tritones. These guys are just the best BM metal band for me right now. The art, the concept, the chaos. Nobody else compares.

There's a super dark chanting part in the third song. It sounds super dark. Like some ritual is being done. It's really amazing that any other band doing that would be super corny but Deathspell Omega actually make it seem real and palpable.
It's disturbing because the chant is in behind Mikko Aspa's vocals and it's almost like it's commanding him or possessing him and he's reacting to it. It's a really cool layering technique.
