been listening to a lot of Hollis's solo album lately, which is an absolute gem
.O.Rang are excellent too, so thanks to whoever mentioned that

Enjoying the Modern Nature albums including the one they released last week - one of the better Hollis inspired new acts out there

I’ll give em a go

I love .O.Rang especially Herd of Instinct, so underrated along with the Mark Hollis solo record.

"No other albums wait with arms open for you quite like this one"
smh, while the album is a tedious snoozefest its biggest crime is it having people unironically typing shit like this.

man I'm just looking at your ratings and I can tell one day it's going to click with you. Might be tomorrow, may be ten years from now when some new hipster-not-hipster friend forces you to try this album again, but one day..

I actually periodically listen to this album since the love for it it is most perplexing to me. I've actually softened on it, but I don't think it'll ever be above a three for me.

Nah, that sounds like something someone who jerks off to Hollis' "spiritual" quaalude affected drawl does. Someone who'd refer to this album as "transcendent".

Gotta have some respect for the stubborn old git
I think the tide may be turning, although at the rate he’s going at, it may never happen

I can see an appeal with Taphead and Runeii. I enjoy them more than I remember and Hollis' lugubrious vocals, which I usually find annoying, actually complement the mood. But a song like After The Flood is a 0. It's goes from boring to irritating to boring. The 4-6 minute mark on that song is the worst. Overall though I've bumped this .5.
