Vox suck & not in a quirky TSOP sort of way, they just straight up suck. Sounds like some left over ideas from the TSOP sessions, but without the death. Not sure if that's what it actually is.
I'm underwhelmed because it's Chuck, ok for what it is though.

I disagree, it's basically the natural progression from Sound plus vox reach some truly great heights, like early Fates Warning (either Arch or Alder) with the agression of Painkiller-era Rob Halford

album is definitely a slow burner. i think it was a hard 3/5 the first time i heard it. i actually don't know anybody who loved it the first time they heard it, at least not in my personal life. it's definitely a beautiful album, espcially in its guitar solo work.

God damn it! Has taken me so long to finally check this out being a huge Death fan for some reason (probably the power metal tag hahah). Regardless, instrumentally, this is basically Death, but the vocals sound AWFUL over the music. Don’t fit it the slightest bit.
