Yeah I'd much rather listen to music, game related immersion can be sacrificed. Weirdly I was considering Dragon Age as my next RPG purchase as I over-play Fallout & wondered if it was playable whilst listening to music. I liked the first DA.
Good to hear you're enjoying ME:A, ME3 was too streamlined as an RPG experience for me.

Not everyone likes Dragon Age: Inquisition bear that in mind. But you seem to have a similar taste to me, I think you'd love it. I even liked it more than the original to be honest, but maybe that's because I always played it bonged out of my mind on hot, sultry nights mmm.
But yes it's actually very playable to music, because 90% of it is open-world roaming. Same goes for Andromeda it seems.

Wut, you loved Inquisition? So you people do exist.
I thought Origins was 100x better.

Sounds awesome, I usually wait for games to get cheaper (with a couple of notable exceptions) & Dragon Age can't be expensive now. It's been on my radar a while but I thought the music thing could be an issue. Thanks.
We seem to like clogging up review comments with non-music related drivel Piglet? It's a trend. Haha.

ahahah oh yeah nah mate that's how you know you're doing well here, its the name of the game
And yeah idk goat, i love open world games which i can mindlessly 100% and hoard to music. And again, I was fucked out of my mind playing it every summer night to some of my favourite albums i had just discovered, goddamn happiest time of my life. Besides now anyway. But i can just as easily see why people don't like it

Aww, not sure if that was a happy or tragic tale.
But yeah. Getting deeply immersed in a game while listening to awesome music is the best.

The key is to avoid playing something that requires massive levels of concentration, just enough depth to keep you interested will suffice. Otherwise you're not immersed in the music as much. I've put so many hours into Fallout games over the years that I'm essentially on auto-pilot but they're still enjoyable.

I don't like listening to music to games that rely heavily on story and atmosphere, that have lots of cutscenes and/or dialogue, that are really immersive and have an awesome soundtrack already anyways. but one of my favorites thing to do was doing magic find runs in diablo 2 for hours while listening to some awesome metal albums, it's just so relaxing.

@Egarran - I don't think it's tragic, do what you enjoy/live & let live etc. Sounds fine to me. I don't smoke but drinking in the same scenario is something of a desirable pastime of mine.

True, true.
Civ is very well suited for this. And all of the Diablo-type games.
I was also in a nice trance while playing Baldur's Gate 2.

If you play WoW or FF14 (well less so for FF14 because the music is so good) that is prime music-listenin' time.
