As much as I liked their first 2 records as gateways from melodeath to other black metal stuff - I do find myself not understanding the hype nowadays.

~~Hittin that sweet spot I guess~~ indeed, something like that. Many of us, who really like this band, discovered them long time ago. Use it at an accessible, gateways, like you said, into other bm bands. First love stuff, i guess. Fully addicted to these melodies.
Posting here: Valkyrja, band -- The Invocation of Demise, album. Such a great band that followed the tradition of Dissection. Amazingly good. Mega impressive for a debut album.

Reminder that Jon Nodtveit and John Zwetsloot were 14 and 15 years old when they began writing this album, and were both only 18 when it was actually recorded. Absolutely genius riffs and guitar work here.
