seriously though watershed is a very well-rounded, inexhaustible album that displays everything i love about opeth; ghost reveries took me the longest to get into but it's arguably one of the most rewarding; still life contains most of their best material and is only slightly inferior to watershed and ghost reveries (all amazing in my opinion); bwp is their most overrated by a long shot but still one of their best, not much of a fan of their softer stuff here; damnnation is too long and i go back and forth with how i truly feel about this album, but it's fall so i'm enjoying it; and blah blah blah skip ahead to orchid which is easily their worst, despite housing a couple of their best songs.

i can't think of a single song on bwp that's more outrageously awesome and intense than hessian peel or lotus eater - especially the latter. i mean, the drumming is just unfuckingbelievable. really don't know how it's their least consistent, i think it's their easiest album to digest, especially if you're just getting into the band (that statement isn't to say that it serves as only an introductory album that people graduate from though)
