10,000 Days sucks with averageness and that mainstream ccrap aftertaste. Maybe that's why you like it more. :/

Tool's music has always been mainstream. Outside of the title track, the album kicks ass and never bores.

Cravinov, go troll someone else's thread, why dontcha?

I always thought that the title track of 10,000 days was their best work on that album.

Man, Vicarious and The Pot are awesome.

The title track is cool, atmospheric and still great, but it's long and at times boring.

Truth hurts huh? The point being, Tool never was a mainstream band before 10,000 Days regardless the attention they got.

I think it could be argued that they were pretty mainstream for a progressive band.

Well, let's see. Sober was #13, and I still hear that on the radio a lot nowadays. Stinkfist was #1 on the MAINSTREAM rock charts, Schism was #2, and that song seemed to get massively overplayed, and Vicarious and The Pot were #2. I think the argument could be made that AEnima was a mainstream album on account of Stinkfist being #1.

Truth hurts, huh?

^^ agreed, Aenima definitely catapulted them into the mainstream. not only was Stinkfist played til exhaustion, so was 46&2. while the singles from Undertow were played in heavy rotation, i dont remember it being that way until Aenima came out and people finally started recognizing tool

Silly boy with his wikipedia to back him up. Regardless the numbers, Tool never made themselves out for a amainstream audiance. It just happened.

Your just an ignorant moron who doesn't realize that Tool is a mainstream progressive rock band. Sober was played to death on my old radio station in Houston, 94.5 The Buzz (at the time it was The Rocket) when Undertow was first released. They've always been radio mainstays.

I feel the need to add another opinion. I think the point here is that Tool basically IS mainstream but they do not go out to make themselves this way. They're just doing whatever they want to make the music they want, and they don't care what people think.

That's my two cents. Alright review, but it could use more detail :

Who cares that Tool played on mainstream radio, their better than pretty much all other bands that are played on the radio. And by the way, this review felt more like a rant than an actual review of the music. This Message Edited On 05.18.08
