I Didn't Understand is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

This album is a potential grower, but right now I can't justify a higher rating then this.

haven't really listened enough to it yet, but right now those are my thoughts as well. only that I'd chose the self titled one and Either/Or, I didn't love Roman Candle too much.

haha i meant first three :/
either/or is my favourite then roman candel, followed by self titled which is just ahead of this.

i personally think elliott smith's first three releases were better than this, much darker Agreed. Those were the Kill Rock Star times, when he basically recorded all songsjust by himself. XO was the first with Dreamworks, and the first after the Miss Misery/Good Will Hunting hype.
Either/Or is maybe my favorite after all, although I've listened most to the self-titled. Elliott's songwriting was absolutely amazing.

There he performs an unreleased song of that era, No Confidence Man.. I don't know what it is, there's just this certain something that makes him my favorite musician ever.

"A brilliant work of art, Elliott Smith..."
Dude, wrong use of appositive.
Also, I really like this album, minus Amity, which is annoying as hell
