Well, after liking Medulla quite a bit I was hoping to be surprised by this one. But I wasn't. Good first half (Earth Intrudets and I See Who You Are mostly) but all in all a rough record with a consistently dull second half.

I have a fairly 'standard' Bjork ranking as far as I can tell...
Tier 1: Homo/Vespertine
Tier 2: Post > Biophilia/Debut > Vulnicura
Tier 3: Utopia > Volta > Medulla

Tier 1 is definitely Tier 1 though.

Top two tiers are all 4/5+ which is very unusual for me, this lass has a rather impressive hit rate so I can forgive her misfires in tier 3. I really do need to revisit Medulla though, it's currently rock bottom (as my ranking shows), but possibly has more 'potential' than the two above it. I just found it rather grating on initial inspection and ended up not returning after the first few spins.

That's fair. I think my first spin of Medulla was rather average; second time I listened to it, I was much more taken aback by how impressive her vocal performance was on the entire thing. It's definitely not the Bjork album I reach for all the time, but I love it for what it is, and every now and then I'll get a strange hankering to listen to it front-to-back and it doesn't disappoint. (Most recently was last week and I almost went with a 4.0 but settled on a 3.5 for now.)
