It seems like I should really like this one a lot more as I'm admittedly a sucker for the "random" shit, but I don't know..

pretty much what i would have said, but this album also beats alaska in its soft parts, thats why i cant help but recommend Shevanel Part 2

I'm on the fence with that. I really need to listen to this album alot more to get an idea of which I like better.

Alaska is an advancement of their style and a progression into a more refined sound.

Some of the tracks on Alaska are truly remarkable. This is less outstanding solely for the fact that I'd say Mordecai is the only exemplary standout track.

If their debut had gotten better production I would probably say this and the previous would be equivalent in terms of pwnage.

I guess the sound is more refined, but there are a lot of songs on Alaska that bore me as well.

Eh, I'd say Ad A Dglgmut is a standout too, more so because of the concept. For some reason, I think this album flows much better then Alaska. Although, my favorite BTBAM is by far Selkies, but both albums are still excellent.

Mordecai, Ad A Dglgmut, Aesthetic, Camilla Rhodes, I love nearly every song on this album, I'd say.

This album always amazes me, they are like the Metalcore verson of Opeth. Just amazing band

The only song that's meh for me is Anablephobia. Aside from that, I love this album, I used to be obsessed with both this and Alaska, but I have to listen to Alaska again to see how they compare, so far, the dynamics here appeal to me more. Tommy sounds a bit too strained though. This Message Edited On 08.14.07

Can BTBAM even be defined by genre?

I don't care, really. As long as they keep making incredible music, it's all good.
