Sat, do you dislike all the offsprings albums?

BR might be my favorite band ever. I probably put this up against most of their albums.
Satty what? some epitaph drama but what?
|
| |
yeah pretty much, apart from a few songs here and there. i totally understand the appeal tho. they just don't do it for me.

@watch this was released via brett gurewitz's then-tiny indie label epitaph. because of its unprecedented success (pretty sure it's still the best-selling indie album of all time) he became too busy with his label so he had to shift focus from the band. this course of events also led to them to eventually sign to atlantic, which was a disaster, and brett left the band. fortunately they bounced back.
note: i don't actually hold that against the offspring, just being snarky.

I guess I knew the story but somehow didn't really connect this album with it.
Hey, probably made Process Of Belief that much better.
|
| |
I actually like The Gray Race a lot, but yeah the rest of the non-Gurewitz BR isn't great
|
| |
yeah tgr is easily their best major label album.

Anyone know what "Ten in 2010" was supposed to mean? lol
|
| |
at the time there were projections that the world's population in 2010 would be 10 billion. fortunately that wasn't the case but greg was right about over-population.

Draw and quarter me, but I still think that Americana is better than Smash. And that's considering I absolutely love Smash.

I won't hold that against you but I just don't see it.

Oh shit, ok well yeah he's right on about over-population. Where I live is just insane, building new apartment complexes and suburbs every month, everything being gentrified, it's no joke.
@LaughingSkull
Nah you're good man, Americana rips, definitely more pop punk going on there, but's it's super solid

I have always preferred Ixnay over the rest, but, anymore, I don't really visit much else besides this and Ixnay, a few choice picks from Americana, and a random song here and there from the others I have heard.

Yeah the t/t on Americana still gets some regular play from me, love the octave(correct term?) change on the last chorus

"Yeah the t/t on Americana still gets some regular play from me, love the octave(correct term?) change on the last chorus"
Mmhmm, love that one too. If you want to know, the term you are looking for is 'key change.' Out of curiosity, I just looked the guitar tab up, and it's a half step up from the original chorus, which is a fun little trick a lot of artists like to throw in every so often.
An octave would essentially be the same note but played at a higher or lower pitch. So, with Dexter's voice, if he would sing that an octave higher than the original, it would be like the chipmunks were singing it, lol.

I dig some tracks of Ixnai but nah, I feel they lost steam after Smash
