It's Jazz fusion a la Miles Davis and Tony Williams Lifetime yep. I still think this has some subtle progressive influences though. I hear VDGG, and King Crimson in Facelift.

Wyatt has a near-perfect discography, but was remarkably consistent. It's a shame he decided to hang it up, but I'd prefer someone who knew they had nothing left to really say or give instead of trying to force it.
