going back and listening to this record for the first time in a long while i realize how talented the bass and drums are . The guitar talent is a given so i dont even have to mention that, but the bass follows the guitars the whole entire record. And obviosly the drums are going to be superb becuase its Lamb of God, but esp. on this record IMO, Adler is at his primeThis Message Edited On 11.18.06

Your reasons are the same as mine. This album definitely isn't a 5 though, as The Faded Line, Omerta, One Gun, and What I've Becomes are all either average or boring tracks.

I must say, I REALLY like LOG.

yeah, the songs do repeat and stuff but who cares as long as it sounds great? But I mostly care like LOG because of their lyrics anyways.

about the "lyrics" in the song "ashes of the wake": LOGs music style is Metalcore, so of course they have political songs! I compared the german and the english explanation of metal core on wikipedia: Metalcore is a slower, heavier, hardcore-rooted style influenced by thrash metal (instruments) and deathmetal (singing) but in terms of lyrics metalcore is influenced by hardcore punk.

If you listen to the lyrics you will see that most is about stuff that happened to the band (O.D.H.G.A.B.F.E.) or political stuff (ashes of the wake, Blood Junkie,...).

and btw i really don't know why you didn't like Omerta... it was the first song i really liked from LOG.....

but your review was really good

Check out CATARACT! really good swiss-metalcore!! (just google it )

peace

They don't play metalcore?? what do they play then?

sry if I was wrong, it's just what i read on wikipedia. although i think the description of metalcore fits their sound

PS: please go listen to cataract, they have about 4 song you can download on their page. they're really good (I think they were touring with bands like Unearth, Most precious blood and poison the well) www.cataract-collective.com

I'm a huge fan of LOG... though they do get a lil boring at times. ..such as when you play a cd of theirs, some of the songs on their album will sound the same... But still, i love Blythe's vocals and chris's drumming... the bass is usually drowned out in the songs but oh well... still an amazing band, and i definitely dig this album. This Message Edited On 02.07.07

I totally argree with you hottiebassplayer. Some people try and categorize every little part of a bands genre. Lamb of God is metal, thats all there is to it.

This album has just one classic after another, starting with the beginning song. The intro of omerta kinda caught me off guard the first time, but now when i listen to it, its fucking amazing. definitely an album everybody needs to pick up
