Which ones did you check?

The Mind's I is also better than this, cotton.

Gallery + the two before this - feel v unmotivated to exploring anything past this given how much Character/Damage saturate my appetite for this kinda riff/chorus metal, but should probs peep Mind's I and Skydancer sometime

Character/Damage showcase DT's best execution of that kind of sound.

Check Projector, it leans quite heavily into goth territory but in a good way.

I'd never figured that the closer here was alluding to Plato's allegory.

Sundin has been really into older philosophies for a long time - of course his guitar playing will be missed, but he brought a certain energy no one could replace. His impact on early In Flames is fairly significant as well.

Convinced most melodeath fans are just Niklas Sundin fans tbh

Lol you got a great point there! Stanne does also seem to be very deep into older philosophy. It's everywhere in his song writing.

Out of any of these guy's albums, this is the one I always end up coming back to the most.
