I mean, their audiences changed. They went from playing in small clubs for angsty teens to selling arenas for the housewives of CFO's. Their current audience is boring, but if they're the ones buying th tickets they're the ones you have to please. Angsty teens aren't selling out arenas, rich people who like boring pop rock are.

Yeah it's inconsistent but it doesn't suck like Come Around Sundown did. It's a pity as I don't think it actually gets the recognition it deserves, whereas Only By the Night was hugely overrated.

Agreed man but still it's very frustrating for the old time fans to be fed that bullshit. It's not all down to the band though like you
said, although they are the ones who choose to write the (mostly) uninspired schlock they do nowadays.

Oh yeah but I consider myself an original fan so naturally I felt outraged when they started churning out bollocky shite.

I mean they have always had shit hot singles, which is why I foolishly get tricked into thinking the new albums are going to be somewhat consistently good.

Shit sells like hot cakes tho. I wish they went back to their original sound but Caleb wouldn't be married
to a Victoria Secret model if they didn't make Sex on Fire, Use Somebody, ect. I bet every single one of us
would sell out if we could go from grimey southern rock band travelling in a van from show to show to
banging supermodels and playing in front of thousands instead of hundreds of people.

It's easy to judge I guess, none of us will ever be successful rockstars so we'll never know what goes on behind the scenes lol.
