Album Rating: 3.0
its a very tryhard album for sure, but part of that makes me respect it a little now. but also because the spoken word side is kind of good, borders the line between creepy and sinister to kinda funny. that, and i feel like it was supposed to be henry rollins' way of criticizing/freaking out all the conservative parents that freaked out over them when damaged came out, particularly the title track. plus i dig the instrumental side, pretty ballsy move for a punk band to just improv that whole thing. especially since this album predates noise/core stuff like today is the day or dead c by a couple years.
tl;dr i appreciate black flag for embracing their pretentious art snob side with this album, even if its corny
