I just picked this album up the other day and I'm really liking it. It's actually my first buy for Iron Maiden. I don't know why I'm just getting around to picking it up, but its a very great album.

This is basically how I view this album, except I don't really like Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I thought I was the only one :P

Good review, but this may be the only time I completely disagree about the score. It's an opinion though, so I respect it.

why bashing power metal?

album is pure gold, saying that Flash of the Blade and The Duellist are garbage is just pathetic

Unbelievable. The Duellists is sort of perfection in its style.

Disagree so hard. Sorry bro.

Heavy metal never sounded so big or proud as it did on this album.

ehhhh, those four tracks in the middle aren't 5 worthy imo

@Titan. True, but "Back In The Village" rules hard too.

Review is a bit too harsh, but I can't see how this album should be a classic, too.

I absolutely do not agree with this review, but of course respect the view. Sometimes (and this is such a case) a view or opinion must be overruled by the facts. You can dislike Bach (e.g.) but never can say he is a boring, bad composer. The same applies to Powerslave, which is Heavy Metal in it's highest state (not a view, but a fact).
