It's grown on me a tad. But Funeral still has Haiti and Rebellion so it wins.

Funeral has really good songs and really mediocre songs, this however has really good songs and pretty good songs. Funeral's really good top this ones though.

I think No Cars Go owns all of Funeral. In fact I'm beginning to like the two albums more equally.

What is the theme around the album? Is it critical of christianity in general, just a certain movement in it, just the church, or do they just like the title Neon Bible?

Win Butler recently hinted in an interview that a faith background informs his criticism of both church and society. He said a central theme on Neon Bible "is this idea that Christianity and consumerism are completely compatible, which I think is the great insanity of our times." Butler also noted, "We want to move people emotionally, but not by spelling out 'George Bush sucks!' We're asking questions like, 'What if there is a genuine, deep, dark evil in the world?'"

have to say, by far one of my favourate albums of last year, it's simply superb and it's so refreshing to find so few lacklustre tracks. A sophomore effort that equals if not expands on the kind of atmosphere the Arcade Fire created with their debut album.

Awesome.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I heard a few songs (Some off of Funeral; Rebellion Lies, Wake Up, and a few off of this CD; Neon Bible, Windowsill) and I liked those so I bought this CD.

I think this is going to have to be a CD that grows on me.

I do not like the album art at all though.

Wow, same day I bought this...and while initially knew it would have to grown on me, it's growing fast. I'm starting to love the CD.

As for the art work, I think it's very bland.

Not as consistent as Funeral, but it has more stand-out tracks.

No Cars Go, (Antichrist Television Blues) and possibly Black Mirror

Although they probably only stand out because it's less consistent, but still those are probably my three favorite AF tracks.

Meh this band just doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't know why. They just got boring.
