Revisited this album today in anticipation of a potential "Christian" gig where my band would play some covers. This album is pretty amazing.

their debut is the best imo

The debut is the weakest (but still good). Electronics, consistency and especially "Fin" make this their best, I'd say.

This is by far their best. Psyched for the new one.

i guess i need to listen to this again cause i don't remember anything that struck me as amazing, or as good as the album before this one for that matter.

definitely. This is such a profound record... just the chord progressions they use are satisfying in every bridge and breakdown

I've been listening to this and the new album and I think I just slightly prefer this. It's slightly more upbeat.

As solid as New Surrender is, this is just more electric. and it has Fin...

^agreed. I think Cities is their deepest and most heartfelt record.

This is definitely their best, but every Anberlin record rules except for Blueprints and even that one is still enjoyable.

hey man awesome review, this is a truly epic album. one correction you need to make, though...

you say:

“ You're motive and stable / You're like an unwinding cable car /

the actual lyrics are: "Emotive Unstable / You're like an unwinding cable car"

makes much more sense with the rest of the lyrics of the song (which are amazing). This Message Edited On 10.25.08
