I agree with AmericnZero, I enjoy a number of tracks, but the synth is just sort of cheesy sounding, especially if you were in the genre of rock, but i have to say in "A Whisper & A Clamour" (which i believe had synth in it) was done well, another thing from that song, Christian shows how he has a strong screaming voice in the bridge (or is it interlude), and i also agree that there should have been some more hard stuff (i.e. The Feel Good Drag). One more thing, I really enjoyed the different guitar work, especially the use of a 12-string in "The Unwinding Cable Car," but in "Alexithymia" I cannot stand the guitar solo (coming from a guitar player's perspective). *Best tracks: Godspeed, A Whisper & A Clamour, The Unwinding Cable Car, Hello Alone, Alexthymia, Dismantle. Repair, (*fin)*

One more minor thing that bugs be about the album, the sleigh bells in "Inevitable," I didn't know they were aiming for a Christmas album haha

just got the album. the vocals a great with good lyrics, not chessey lyrics like trapt IMO. the only problem i find with it is that they have too many melow songs on it, i think it'd be better if it had more like Godspeed,IMO.

It maybe just a band I can't get into or maybe I'm not the biggest fan of the genre but a want-to-be Bon Jovi doesn't float my boat quite the same as the rest of the people here.

????????????????????????????????
This still might end up being my album of the year; got to hear the new Thrice and Demon Hunter records first, but those are pretty much the only other contenders at this point. Such a good album. This Message Edited On 10.15.07

I always assumed this band would be a pretty standard FOB/Th eAcademy Is/Cartel etc clone, but ttheir five songs of this album on their myspace are actually really good, I may get this.

Anberlin's best to date, and this is one of only 2 albums where my favorite song is the closer.

Though I love this album, this sound is very similar to Emery's.

I wouldn't say they sound like Emery that much at all. Friendship and The Question were mildly similar, but other than the fact that they're sort of in the same genre, there's not a whole lot of similarities there.

I'm with roofi on this one. Aside from those two albums, I can't really find any musical connection. Well, minus the fact that they are both enjoyable bands of course.

ToWhatEnd, yet another fantastic review. This album truely is suberb, although I am sad that nothing was mentioned about "Hello Alone"

Well, what I meant was godspeed has a very emery sound to it... the harmonized cleans sound like the emery vocals... the vocals just scream emery to me. haha.

To me, Anberlin's vocalist and Emery's vocalists sound nothing alike and that's the biggest difference between those two bands.
