unnecessary.. i can enjoy some of these songs like hello or going under, but my favourite bands are blind guardian, amon amarth, origin, devil sold his soul.. are you realy going to say im not a metalhead? its just a matter of taste ;) the fact the music doesnt grow on you doesnt make it awfull.. many other bands just copyed the songs right out and most likely you've heard the copies in the radio, got bored of the music type and therefor bored on the cd ;)

Hmm seems as I forgot to rate this bands albums, and boy what a review... I never knew this was oh so metal-y and controversial.

I still enjoy this album on occasion, and back in the day I loved it more than any other during that time (basically agree with Hawks and FearThyEvil9).

We all know this is good, we just don't want to admit it now we grew up.

Don't like 'My Immortal'... It's boring...

And I can't listen to a whole Evanescence's album, because after only the first two songs, Amy Lee's voice start to make me sick.

Go listen to Origin and see if it's any better, her voice is more raw in tone on that release.

Considering the age of the album I'd say no, you're not alone.

I really don't see the hate these guys receive, especially from you so called 'professional listeners' (not remotely striving musicians or one could understand). People act like this band killed some legend like Elton John and carries his head through the streets! -__- or something.

If you don't like it fine, but don't make everyone who remotely finds joy in their music sound like they're some fiend from hell and don't know music just because they like them.

Sheesh

Though this is a music review website, so there has to be some type of semi-professionalism running around behind the scenes somewhere...

God damn, this album actually still rules for me. Whisper kicks so much early 2000's ass
